Our Story
After quickly becoming the top team for a local entertainment company, Pat and James used the money they had saved to start their own DJ business at the age of 15. Not able to drive yet, their parents had to drop them off and pick them up from their first few parties. They handed out business cards at each event, and their business quickly grew to more than 125 events each year. DJing was their primary source of income throughout high school, college and the beginning of their adult careers.
Their business paused when Pat moved to North Carolina and James had his first child, Ryan. They both used weekends to spend more time with their families. Once Ryan became of age and showed interest, however, DJing became a great way for James and Ryan to spend quality time together.
The original DJ Turntable – Technics 1200
It all started here when James used money he saved for his school ring to buy his first Technics 1200. Hundreds of records later, he built a large music collection.
The CD Turntable of the 1990s – CDJ 1000
We started using CDs as the primary media-of-choice in the mid 1990s and largely recreated our entire music library in this format at the time.
Father & Son Team
Fueled by passion for music and entertainment along with the desire to spend quality time together, LI Disc Jockeys is now a father and son team.
